Italian fashion house Moncler and Irish designer Simone Rocha have teamed up for new capsule collection.
Titled '4 Moncler x Simone Rocha' the collection which is Rocha's fourth collection for the brand is an ode to art and dance and was originally inspired by Italian filmmaker and La Dolce Vita director Federico Fellini, dance, and the fantasy of dress. Comprising of outerwear (rain jackets, puffer coats, windcheaters) ideal for a day out the capsule combines active outerwear with dreamy, romantic details.
According to Rocha the Baroque flamboyance of the stage costumes played a big influence on her designs.
'This collection is very much my interpretation of Moncler's technical expertise, exploring fabrications and silhouettes but bringing it all under the female gaze in my idea of modern femininity,' the Award-winning designer said in a statement.
To accompany the release of the collection, Rocha collaborated with Canadian photographer Petra Collins for the Moncler campaign: a two-minute artistic video that features professional dancers alongside some well-known names dancing in Rocha's designs, with scenes set in a ballet studio and on stage.
Rocha who is currently working on SS21 collection in lockdown was born and raised in Dublin before graduating from the acclaimed Fashion MA at Central Saint Martin's College, London. Her dreamy and romantic designs with influences from Ireland, Asia, and the art world took her to London Fashion Week, where she presented her debut collection in September 2010. Since then, Rocha has left an indelible mark on the fashion world.
The 4 Moncler x Simone Rocha collection will be available from Thursday 7 May, both online and in selected boutiques.
