Miuccia Prada presents her Final Solo Collection

Three decades after presenting her first ready-to-wear collection in 1989, Miuccia Prada took her Final bow.

The co-chief executive and co-creative director of the Italian fashion powerhouse presented its Spring/Summer 2021 Multiple Views collection during Paris's first Digital Men's Fashion Week.

The new collection was unveiled via a short film titled 'The Show That Never Happened,' which is in reference to the industry's current exercise of virtual-only presentations. Miuccia enlisted five photographic visionaries from around the world to create a true conversation and present their interpretations for the collection. Among those are Terence Nance, Joanna Piotrowska, Martine Syms, Juergen Teller, and Willy Vanderperre.

'These inherently and fundamentally echo the traditional fashion show, where each observer has their own physical and ideological vantage-point on the collection, their own opinions, their own observations. It also reflects the reality of this Prada digital presentation: seemingly divergent but again seen by many, this time in their own environments, their own time, their own worlds,' Prada said in a press release.

Comprising of simple and refined pieces for men and women, the collection plays with conventional ideas of couture with a sporty interpretation, a voluminous approach, and borrows elements from lingerie. Featuring industrial silhouettes with innovative materials juxtaposed with traditional outfits, the entire collection is simple but with purpose and comes in a soft palette of neutrals, florals, and pastels.

The first Prada collection designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons will be presented in Milan in September 2020 for the brands' Spring/Summer 2021 womenswear show.
