Max Mara & Liu Wei Debuts Capsule Collection

Max Mara has teamed up with award-winning Chinese artist Liu Wei, debuting a limited edition collection.

Titled 'Max Mara + Liu Wei', it was inspired by city maps and architectural plans documenting the ongoing metamorphosis of large cities. The design process was a close collaboration between Wei and Ian Griffiths, Creative Director at Max Mara.Designed for 'a woman in the concrete jungle on her way to the top', the eleven-part Capsule Collection includes skirts, dresses, blouses, jackets, a coat as well as a sunglasses model and a clutch.

'It is a mix of all; sculptural, performative and theatrical, in different moments,' Liu said of the collaboration. 'It is also fashionable of course, in all senses of the word, because I pay attention to the special field I am venturing into on this occasion.'

The collection was presented in Shanghai on 15 December 2016 with a big show. Priced between 329 euros for a silk blouse and 3739 euros for a long wraparound coat of angora alpaca wool, it is available at selected flagship stores and maxmara.com.
