Hollywood newcomer Margot Robbie is the cover star for W Magazine’s December/January art-and-fashion issue. The aussie siren poses underwater in a series of haunting underwater images. Photographed by contemporary video artist Bill Viola in a water tank at his Long Beach, California studio the 24 year old actress dons looks from Donna Karan, Rodarte, Boss Hugo Boss and other brands styled by Patrick Mackie.
The cover image shows her wearing a cream chiffon dress with embroidery and sequins as she is submerged and gazes up. On being underwater the actress revealed that she had been preparing ahead of time before taking the plunge.
"I've been practicing in my bathtub," the 24-year-old admitted.
“I am so excited. I’ve been holding my breath to see how long I can go without turning blue.”
The image is one of two covers of the magazine's issue; the other features Jake Gyllenhaal similarly submerged.
Margot is currently getting ready for the release of “Focus,” in which she stars alongside Will Smith. She is set to play Harley Quinn (The Joker's accomplice) in new much-anticipated new film Suicide Squad, which is set to open in 2016.
