Stella McCartney has released her new collaboration with and has tapped Lourdes Leon as the co-director, choreographer as well as star of the accompanying campaign.
The 23-year-old budding style icon and dancer chose her friend and Brooklyn-based director Anna Pollack for the campaign which was shot in the wetlands outside of New York City. Loen also cast her own friends: artist Uzumaki Cepeda, performance artists Oumou Traore and Henry Chesley, dancer Lynnette Paz, and drummer Anysia Kym Batts in the shoot.
'My generation is sensitive to the needs of each other and the planet, and the state of the world affects us. I have known Stella my whole life, and trust her sustainable vision for this versatile new performance collection with Adidas,' Leon said in an official statement.
'I've known Lola (Lourdes) since she was a baby and working with her and this team of creatives felt very natural. I think it's important we use the Adidas by Stella McCartney collaboration to really highlight up-and-coming talent, really try to encourage and support the next generation of people, and give them a platform to express themselves,' explained McCartney of the campaign.
Though Leon's foray into fashion choreography is new she is not new to dancing as she majored in Dance at the University of Michigan. Neither is her foray into modeling as she made her runway debut for Gypsy Sport in 2018, starred in Miu Miu's Spring 2019 campaign. She also appeared in a campaign for Jean Paul Gaultier last year.
