Louis Vuitton and Nike unveil Virgil Abloh designed Sneakers

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a new Nike sneaker designed by late Off-White founder and artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh.

The highly coveted Air Force 1 model was reimagined by Abloh for Louis Vuitton's Spring-Summer 2022 Collection and was his last for the Luxury French fashion house before he passed away on November 28, 2021.

The Nike Air Force 1 was designed in 1982 and is one of the most successful shoes ever created. Forty years after its creation it has become a cultural symbol. The new sneakers fuses it's classic codes with the insignia and materials of Louis Vuitton and pays homage to the hip-hop culture that shaped Abloh.

Made from calfskin, they mix Louis Vuitton's iconic Monogram and Damier patterns and are styled with Abloh's signature quotation marks. Available in an exclusive colorway with sizes ranging from 5-18, each pair is sold in an exclusive Louis Vuitton pilot case in orange Taurillon Monogram leather.

The first drop of 200 special-edition pairs will take place through a special global online auction from 26 January-8 February 2022 via Southeby's with a starting bid of 2,000 USD. Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Virgil Abloh "Post-Modern" Scholarship Fund, an organization that supports the education of academically promising students of Black, African-American, or African descent by providing scholarships.

In addition to the auction, the 47 pairs of the Nike 'Air Force 1' original runway sneakers that Abloh designed for the Louis Vuitton show in collaboration with Nike will be exhibited in stores across the globe.
