Kim Kardashian Channels Marilyn Monroe for 'Vogue' Brazil
Kim Kardashian has landed the cover of Vogue Brazil's June "body issue".
The Marilyn Monroe-inspired sexy shoot sees the 34-year-old star channeling Monroe with an even sexier, modern-day spin in dual covers shot by famed photographer Ellen Von Unwerth.
Sporting Marilyn Monroe's signature blond and wavy hairstyle and attitude, In one she is featured lying on a leopard blanket sporting a pair of long leather dinner gloves, while another has her in a cropped take on Monroe's famed black turtleneck from the early 1950s. In a third image from the spread, Kim appears topless as she holds her arms over her chest wearing nothing but a pair of black gloves and semi-sheer tights.
In the accompanying editorial, the magazine calls Kim "the best representative of the curvilinear silhouette rising on the red carpets nowadays" and "One of the biggest media phenomenon of our times," who, along with her famous family members, has "redefined the entertainment industry this decade." The magazine also revealed that to complete her transformation a Marilyn-inspired wig was ordered for the shoot, but since the racy images were taken during Kim's 21-day blonde hair phase it was not needed.
Vogue Brazil shared both covers on Instagram Tuesday, while the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star shared the cover with her Instagram followers, adding: "Had to capture my blonde moment for Vogue Brasil." In addition to the images from the spread, she also posted a sizzling black and white video on Instagram which features her primping in a mirror while her husband's "All Day" plays in the background.
The special edition of Vogue Brazil is available on newsstands today.
