Khaite collaborates with Elhanati on limited capsule collection of gold accessories

New York-based fashion label Khaite and Danish jeweler Elhanati have teamed up for a limited capsule collection of gold accessories.

Titled 'Khaite x Elhanati' the capsule comprises of six-pieces: two 24k gold-coated-silver brooches, two belts in black gold, a barrette, and a pair of earrings. Blurring the boundaries between utility and adornment, all of the pieces are handcrafted in Copenhagen of 24-karat-gold-coated silver and bronze.

The elongated earrings (1450) and barrette/hairclip (532 Euro) merge Art Deco geometry with richly textured surfaces and inset bezel-set square black spinels. The calfskin belts feature buckle made from 24-karat-gold-coated bronze and come in two sizes: narrow (686 Euro), and broad (919 euro). The highlight of the collection are the two brooches with four bezel-set square black spinels. They come in two sizes small featuring 14 gypsy-set round emeralds(752 euros), and large featuring 29 gypsy-set round emeralds (1512 euros).

Khaite's founder and creative director Catherine Holstein who is based in New York, and Orit Elhanati of Elhanati in Copenhagen created the capsule during the pandemic. 'Creating the designs was a real dialogue, an exchange of idea. We ended up with something that can last forever, something timeless that merges both of our worlds into one,' said Elhanati of the collaborative process.

'Khaite is a brand built on contrasts. Continuously playing with and rebalancing opposing elements to create new ways of seeing, feeling, and dressing. I recognized a similar approach in Elhanati, which merges modern Scandinavian restraint with the ancient mystique of the Middle East,' added Holstein.

The 'Khaite x Elhanati' limited-edition collection is available now on Khaite.com and Elhanati.com.
