John Galliano\'s Employer Believes He\'s A Talent

Fashion's most controversial Designer John Galliano who was recently hired as the new creative director of Maison Martin Margiela seems to have found some saving grace. Stefano Rosso, CEO of OTB has long been an admirer of Galliano and addressed the decision to recruit the designer at WWD's Apparel and Retail CEO Summit in New York yesterday.

"Honestly, I believe John Galliano is a talent. That is the only thing that we see into him. I understand his past is his past and we as a group don't comment on the past," Rosso is noted to have said at the event, reports WWD.

"What we do really like to comment is on the future of John Galliano, and we believe the best and only way to do so is to see his next collection. My advice is to see what he is going to deliver, and I would like you to judge us for his collection, his couture collection in Paris. That is the only thing we feel is the right thing to say right now." he continued further.

After dismissal from Dior in 2011 over his controversial racist and anti-Semitic remarks Galliano was hired by Rosso to head the Margiela's women’s, men’s and couture lines. OTB which also owns Marni, and Viktor & Rolf in addition to Diesel is said to have been readying itself for a new charismatic creative soul.

Galliano's first collection for the fashion house is slated for couture spring/summer 2015, and is set to be one of the most hotly anticipated shows of the season.
