French brand Jacquemus presented its Spring/Summer 2022 collection in Hawaii on Wednesday. The event which took place just after the final day of Paris Fashion Week, marked the first time in its 12-year history that the brand held a show outside of France.
'I'm really happy to announce that our next show 'Le Splash,' a very unique project for us, will happen in Hawaii. The islands of Hawai'i, with their awe-inspiring landscapes, diverse climates, and untold biodiversity, stood out as the perfect complement to the exuberant 'Le Splash' collection,' Simon Porte Jacquemus wrote in an Instagram post on Monday.
The show took inspiration from Jacquemus' 2021 campaign shot by Tom Kneller on O'ahu, and for Simon, who has long wished to visit the islands, it marks the culmination of both a personal and professional dream. The highly anticipated spring and summer collection was presented with locally cast models who walked a blue-lined runway on a beach in the island of O'ahu with the Ko'olau mountain range in the background. Several notable celebrities were in attendance including Blackpink's Jennie, SZA, Bretman Rock, Victor Cruz, Nicole Scherzinger and Jhene Aiko.
The new collection comprises of a range of breezy shirts, shorts, skirts and summer-ready suits with glass adornments that are reminiscent of water droplets by Canadian artist Tanya Lyons. All of the pieces come in a color palette of neon green, safari beige, and ocean blues. There are also accessories like jewelry and bags such as an updated Sac Rond, Le Bambinou, La Vague and the new Le Bomba.
