Gwyneth Paltrow has turned clothing designer.
Titled 'Goop Label' the first apparel collection was inspired by items in Paltrow's closet and her love of well-made designer clothes. Designed by a 'creative collaboration between the actress and a small team of designers,' the clothes are made in Italy at 'the same factories as the leading designer brands.'
'I wanted to create product that is incredibly high quality and delivered at a great value - I think there's a huge white space in the market for luxurious ready-to-wear at a direct-to-consumer price,' Paltrow said in a statement.
'It was very important to me to make the clothes in the same way that all of my favorite designer clothing is made, which is in Italy, with beautifully loomed fabrics, incredible tailoring, and incredible attention to detail, but to be able to deliver those pieces at a third of the price.'
Modeled by Paltrow herself, the four-piece collection from September consists of matching grey pantsuit, a chambray shirt, and a white canvas bag while the second edition from October contains two items: a black dress and navy coat. Moving forward every month the the label will release up to five items that reflect the current season. Goop's collection is currently available online with prices ranging from $195 to $695.
