Italian label Gucci has relaunched its iconic Horsebit 1955 bag with a campaign featuring Singer-songwriter and actress Halle Bailey, Global Brand Ambassador Hanni from the Korean group NewJeans, and critically-acclaimed, award-winning actress and one of the faces of Gucci Guilty Julia Garner.
Lensed by Mert & Marcus, the trio of zeitgeisty stars appear in a series of intimate portraits where they each pose with the Horsebit. Through their distinctive personal style each of them make the Horsebit 1955 their own and bring a new perspective to the heritage-infused bag. Bringing the past into the present, the campaign echoes the brilliant energy that the protagonists exude as they navigate defining moments of their careers.
Gucci's Horsebit 1955 is it's signature handbag offering that has come to represent tradition, time-honed craftsmanship, and the House's ability to draw emblematic silhouettes into the present through an ever-contemporary lens. The house has a long history with the equestrian world with Gucci's relationship to horse riding stemming from their clientele's interests.
The reimagined Horsebit features the same equestrian-inspired metal detail (double ring and bar which serves an ode to horseback riding) as the the one first introduced on a signature loafer precisely 70 years ago. It comes in a range of silhouettes (such as a dome-shaped top-handle), as well as sizes, colors, and materials for a 'choose your own adventure' type of styling experience.
