Dolce & Gabbana is adding color into the kitchen.
The brand has teamed up with Italian company
Smeg, to create a line of colourful eye-cathching appliances consisting of toasters, blenders, juicers, mixers and coffee machines. Each of the small appliances is painted in a variety of typical Sicilian symbols of gold lemons, citrus fruits, prickly pears and bright red cherries, framed in triangular motifs called crocchi.
Adorned with Dolce&Gabbana's signature decorative style, the collection which was presented at the Milan Design Fair, in early April, is titled,'Sicily is My Love', and is an ode to southern Italy, the home of the Italian designer duo.
This isn't the first time that Dolce & Gabbana has attempted to spice up our kitchens. Last spring, they released 100 hand-painted refrigerators priced at $34,000.
The new Dolce & Gabbana x SMEG collection is not yet available but is expected to be launched in October. So far no prices have been communicated, but it is anticipated to be cheaper than the limited refrigerators.
