For its Spring / Summer 2019 campaign, Dior has picked models Ruth Bell and Selena Forrest to pose for British photographer Harley Weir.
Inspired by dance and movement the campaign lookbook centers around ballet, celebrating the body in movement, creating a fairytale atmosphere. The movements were accentuated by Sharon Eyal - a former member of Batsheva Dance Company and the founder of her own dance collective who choreographed a performance that was shown during the label's catwalk presentation last September.
The campaign pays tribute to the new pieces of the season designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri: in a multitude of nude shades, fine fabrics and soft textures between elegance, discretion, and softness. One can also discover flowy dresses, skirts, and sheer garments, directly inspired by the world of the dance. There is also the re-issue of the iconic Dior saddle bag as well as gold-hued lame dresses.
'My work is related to the celebration of the body through clothing and the opportunity it offers to represent ourselves in the eyes of others, but also in our own eyes,' said Maria Grazia Chiuri, artistic director of Dior.
