Designer L'Wren Scott found dead in her apartment
This Monday morning, noted American fashion designer L'Wren Scott was found dead in her New York City home, after an apparent suicide.
Scott, who was a long-time girlfriend of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, was discovered by an assistant earlier today, hanging from a scarf which was tied to a doorknob in her 9th floor apartment home at 200 11th Avenue, near 24th Street, at approximately 10:00 AM.
A representative of the legendary musician told Us Weekly that Jagger is "completely shocked and devastated" by the dreadful news. He is currently in Australia with The Rolling Stones for the next leg of their world tour.
The Manhattan-born designer and former model, who cancelled her Autumn/Winter 2014 collection presentation which was scheduled to take place in London this past ready-to-wear fashion week in February, had texted the assistant just moments before ending her life, police sources say. Scott had asked the assistant to come over and let herself in with a key.
The Medical Examiner's Office will determine a cause of death. Scott would have turned fifty years of age next month, April 28th.
