David Bailey releases a limited retrospective

David Bailey is the subject of a Taschen-Verlag Sumo book that celebrates the iconic British photographer.

Titled David Bailey, the 440-page retrospective which will be available from April contains over 300 portrait photographs from the 1950s to the 2010s, with subjects as varied as Nelson Mandela, the Beatles, the Queen, Salvador Dali, Bill Gates, and Yves Saint Laurent, all printed big and bold, in Bailey's signature style.

Priced at $3,000 the Collector's Edition of 2700 copies (# 301-3300), each numbered and signed by Bailey, comes with a white bookstand designed by Australian designer Marc Newson. Each edition comes with a set of four book jackets featuring John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Jean Shrimpton, Mick Jagger, and Andy Warhol.
