Burberry launches face masks with iconic check pattern

With face masks having become an important part of our lives (especially in situations where social distancing isn't possible) as well as our wardrobes fashion brands have been releasing their own mask collection as a wardrobe accessory.

Joining the ranks, British fashion house Burberry has launched its designer face mask in its iconic Vintage check. The protective cotton face mask with Double-stitched elements and black elastic loops is sustainably produced from excess fabric. The reusable design is enhanced with an antimicrobial technology - HeiQ Viroblock - and provide Particle Filtration Efficiency.

The mask is available in two different colorways: classic archive beige and pale blue and comes with a matching travel pouch. In order to avoid incited headlines and controversy (of being accused of wanting to profit from the crisis), Burberry will donate 2a portion of sales from the masks to the 'COVID-19 Community Fund', which is run by the Burberry Foundation, and was set up in April this year, to provide essential support for local communities in need.

'We are proud to be donating 20 percent of the selling price of each face mask to the Burberry Foundation COVID-19 Community Fund operated by The Burberry Foundation (registered charity number 1154468) to support communities impacted by the pandemic globally,' the brand stated on its site.

In the last few months, there have been several images of supposed designer masks floating around on social media. However, these were mostly forgeries.

Priced at 118 USD or around 100 Euros the Burberry face masks are now available exclusively online.
