LVMH owned French luxury menswear brand Berluti has unveiled its Fall-Winter 2024 Menswear collection ahead of dressing Team France for the opening ceremonies of the Paris 2024 Games in April.
Combining workwear and outdoor wear, the collection re-contextualises high-end dress codes through Berluti's own distinct iconography. Divided into three chapters of wardrobes: Fall-Winter, Fall and Winter.
The Fall-Winter wardrobe comprises of traditional wardrobe components such as hiking boots, bags woven in cashmere and formal shoes made of light leathers. On the other hand, the Fall wardrobe features refined and elegant workwear and accessories such as Sky Running - a trainer inspired by trail runners with mesh and suede across three mixed colourways. Lastly, the Winter wardrobe is made up of cold-climate staples fusing heritage and durability.
The collection is further complimented by Rapiece Reprise: a stand-alone limited-edition capsule of leather accessories in patinated and Scritto leathers patched together with magnified hand-stitching and hand-painting across a string of accessories. Originally created by Olga Berluti in 2005, they will be available in select boutiques.
'In the past, in the 16th and 17th centuries, men never wore new clothes. Fabrics had to be strong enough to last a lifetime. For the marquis or the peasant, a man's suit would feature alterations or mending as acts of bravery. Certain elegant Englishmen, artists or eccentrics have perpetuated this custom. In the 1960s, Andy Warhol asked me: 'I'd like the right foot of my loafer patched. It has to show! It must be Andy Warhol!,' said Olga Berluti.
