Ben Stiller, poses in the role of his alter ego Derek Zoolander - the 'most famous male model of the world' alongside Penelope Cruz for the February 2016 cover of US Vogue.
Lensed by
Annie Leibovitz, the 50-year-old actor sports a Dolce & Gabbana dark blue suit with colorful bird prints and gives his 'Blue Steel look' while fellow actress Penelope Cruz wears a Ralph Lauren dark blue halter dress with her arms around him.
In the rest of the editorial Stiller is seen with many other top models, including Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls and Jourdan Dunn as they re-create iconic fashion shoots. Stiller also gave a candid interview to the magazine in which he discussed Karl Lagerfeld, and the origin of 'Blue Steel'.
On the designer he was hoping would make a cameo in the sequel: 'Karl Lagerfeld. We didn't get Karl Lagerfeld. I would have liked to get Karl. I came close.'
On the original movie premise: 'It wasn't like a slam-dunk movie idea. For the most part, we were on our own both in the fashion world and with the studio, too. They were just like, 'We don't quite know what this is.''
On the origin of Blue Steel: 'That look came out of me in the mirror at home, when I brush my hair or whatever,' Stiller said. 'I guess with the selfie culture, it's just a natural extension. Did I have any idea that it would live on? No.'
Zoolander 2, opens in theaters on Feb. 12. In addition to Stiller and Cruz, the movie also stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Munn, Kristin Wiig and Will Ferrell.
