Balenciaga has launched a new book from artistic director Demna Gvasalia that offers an exclusive look into its Winter 2018 ready-to-wear collection with never before shown images.
Published by Rizzoli, the book consists of images taken by Pierre-Ange Carlotti and Johnny Dufort both of whom have been closely associated with Demna Gvasalia and Balenciaga. Together they have helped shape the visual appearance of Balenciaga and have photographed campaign and lookbooks for the fashion house: Carlotti for spring/summer 2017, Dufort for autumn/winter 2017.
The book is also the first in a series of "creative documentation projects" and thus "not just a book, but a Balenciaga artifact". Consisting of 304 pages, it not only reproduces the aesthetics in the photos, but also accompanies the creation process of the collection: from sketches by Gvasalia, fittings, and rehearsals to snaps of models backstage, the runway, and beyond.
Priced at $95, Balenciaga's autumn/winter 2018 book will go on sale on November 7 on Balenciaga.com and in Balenciaga stores worldwide.
