ASAP Rocky and Boy George are the stars of the spring 2017 campaign for Dior Homme.
The 28 year old Hip-Hop star and the 55 year old English singer, were lensed by Belgian photographer Willy Vanderperre in the studio and in the streets of Paris. In a series of black and white photos, the two musicians model the designs of the French house featuring souvenir badges and patchwork detailing by Japanese artist Toru Kamei.
Joining Boy George and ASAP Rocky is Mr. Robot star Rami Malek and Russian model Ernest Klimko. Malek sports sporty and classic looks with a modern interpretation of the 80s fashion, while Klimko sports a bomber jacket against a background of colored lighting.
According to Creative Director Kris Van Assche, the decision to tap Boy George was because the singer was one of the first in his childhood to spread the message that being different is all right.
'I really tried to translate what I think Dior Homme is right now. It's about music, it's about cinema, it's about fashion...Boy George, when I was a kid, was one of the first to have this message about difference being okay; he was such a major influence on my generation. That idea of freedom and being a rebel-which he still is-is really something that has stayed with me,' Assche told WWD.
The campaign which coincides with Dior Homme's newly opened Instagram account focuses on an intergenerational, subversive cast that serve as a 'New Romanticism' tribute.
