APC collaborates with Jane Birkin on a capsule of wardrobe essentials

French ready-to-wear brand A.P.C. has teamed up with British-French model and actress Jane Birkin for a collection of everyday essentials worn by French women.

Titled A.P.C. x Jane Birkin, the capsule which is the first-ever fashion collection for the style icon from the 60's to the 70's comprises of a Bag, navy bandana, straight jeans, a black wool coat, tank top, V-neck vests, white tennis shoes, a cashmere cardigan, cargo pants, and an oversize shirt. Chic and androgynous, all of the pieces are simple and elegant silhouettes inspired by Birkins own effortless signature style.

'Jane Birkin knows how to dress. This becomes obvious when you talk to her. She also knows how to give a very literary dimension to her attraction to this material or that shape. So, we worked at trying to perfect all her daily outfits with her and under her guidance. I admit that, on the surface, it doesn't look like anything special, because there's nothing spectacular about it, except - using Jane's own words - good basic materials that age well, because she likes to keep her clothing for years, and finishes that live up to their name. In reality, she was the only person we could have done this kind of work with, which is, at the same time, a kind of return to our roots in terms of the Old A.P.C. work method,' A.P.C founder Jean Touitou said in a statement.

Founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou, APC has previously collaborated with Catherine Deneuve and American singer Kanye West. Priced between 70 and 650 Euros, the A.P.C. x Jane Birkin collection is available now on its website and in stores.
