Alexa Chung's eponymous label which she founded in 2017 had its catwalk debut at London Fashion Week.
The British designer who is a well-known face in the fashion world presented the Spring / Summer 2019 collection at a show which was titled "Arrivals and Departures". Inspired by traveling and the airport departure lounge, the collection includes T-shirts and sweaters with the texts 'From Inverness to Tokyo, from Dublin to Athens and from Bristol to Palma' and ' AC World Travel Inc' on them.
There are also jumpsuits inspired by clothing in aviation, patent leather trench coats, airy summer dresses, lounge pants, and casual hats. The color palette consists of restrained tones such as ice blue, cream, white and rich Bordeaux.
Chung appeared at the end of the show on the catwalk sporting a crisp, white shirt and a black skirt with polka dots from the new collection. This is not the first time that the 34-year-old has organized a fashion show. In May 2017 she launched her fashion label in the Danish Church at Regents Park in London. This was followed by several guerrilla shows and events to call attention to the collections of her fashion label.
With her debut at London Fashion Week, Chung has adopted a hybrid model: See-now-buy-now-principle and the traditional fashion show, complemented by regular, readily available capsule collections.
