Alexa Chung launches Sleepwear

British style icon Alexa Chung has expanded her ALEXACHUNG label with Sleepwear.

Titled AC SLEEP, the collection consists of seven individual pajama sets in soft cottons and slinky silks. The pieces are reminiscent of the '50s and the designs come in four colors: pinstriped cornflower blue, brown paisley, pistachio, and Dijon yellow.

Whether you are someone who lingers in the morning until the last minute or someone who likes to take a nap Chung wants you to do that in style. As a sleep lover, the 36-year-old model-turned-designer started the mission to create the perfect pajamas and took inspiration from various historical epochs of Victorian cotton nightgowns and oversized Dickensian shirts. She designed the sets with not just nighttime in mind but with the idea that the designs can transition from bedtime to the street or after-work drinks with ease. In addition to pajamas, there are also two matching silk eye masks for those who like to keep their shut-eye, nightdresses, and two tie-up robes.

'Pyjamas are the first thing to go in the case - they offer me comfort when I'm away from home and also double up as outfits when the portable wardrobe is limited. I like to wear grandad style oversized nights shirts on vacation with sandals, silky slip tops with jeans with a heel at night, bloomers with a t-shirt to get coffee and full pajamas set for bedtime or when I'm boarding a plane. For me, sleepwear felt like the next logical step in the brand's offering,' Chung said in a statement.
