British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been tapped by Givenchy to be its new face.
The 26 year old "Golden Globe" winner fronts the campaign for its classic men's fragrance "Gentleman Givenchy" which will be launched in August. The perfume, which stands above all for masculine elegance, was developed in 1975 by company founder Hubert de Givenchy.
Givenchy announced the news on its Instagram page with a black and white image of the actor, writing:
'We are pleased to announce our collaboration with English actor, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who will embody the new men's fragrance, Gentleman Givenchy starting August 2017.'
For Romain Spitzer, chief executive officer of Givenchy Parfums, there were several reasons for working with the actor, who last year received a Golden Globe for his supporting role in 'Nocturnal Animals' by Tom Ford.
'He knows how to dance. He knows how to sing. He's funny, intense. He has an energy that we like a lot. For me, his personality is a mix of elegance, charisma, generosity and singularity,' Spitzer told WWD.
The collaboration with the actor, known for his roles in "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Kick-Ass", "Savages" and "Godzilla", is also an opportunity "to address a potentially new target group that is younger and younger Fan of his work, he's a coming star. "
The previous face of Givenchy Parfums was the Australian actor Simon Baker from 2013.
