Zendaya is Valentino's newest ambassador

Italian luxury fashion house Valentino has appointed Emmy Award-winning Actress and Activist Zendaya as its newest ambassador.

The announcement was made today with a series of new images in which the 24-year-old star appears styled in key looks from the house's 2021 Diary Collection. Sporting a white high-neck dress and a lace embroidered off-the-shoulder dress respectively she appears clutching Valentino's Garavani Roman Stud accessories.

According to the house Zendaya is a symbol of individuality, freedom and power, and encapsulates Valentino's resignified values, as set out by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. She joins Lady Gaga, who was recently casted as ambassador for the house's Voce Viva perfume.

'I am honored to have been chosen as the face of Valentino. I'm so excited to begin this amazing collaboration with Pierpaolo and the entire Valentino family,' Zendaya said in a statement.

'The reason why we chose Zendaya as the new face for Valentino is because she perfectly embodies and represents what Valentino is and stands for, today. She is a powerful and fierce young woman that uses her talent and her work to express herself, her values and her generation as well,' said Pierpaolo Piccioli.


Zendaya's appointment as the newest face of Valentino is not her first foray into the fashion world. She has previously scored campaigns for Bulgari and Lancome, and also collaborated on a clothing line with Tommy Hilfiger. She will next be seen in sci-fi film Dune alongside Timothee Chalamet as well as HBO's hit series Euphoria for which she won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama.
