Italian label Gucci and its parent company, Kering has announced the departure of Sabato De Sarno as Creative Director.
De Sarno was appointed Gucci's creative director in January 2023 after Alessandro Michele left and was tasked with the responsibility for defining and expressing the House's creative vision across the women's, men's, leather goods, accessories and lifestyle collections. He presented his debut runway collection at the Milan Women's Fashion Week in September of that year.
Raised in Naples, Italy the 39-year-old began his career at Prada in 2005, moving to Dolce & Gabbana. In 2009, he joined Valentino where he held positions of increasing responsibility, finally being appointed Fashion Director overseeing both men's and women's collection.

'I sincerely thank Sabato for his loyalty and professionalism. I am proud of the work that has been done to further strengthen Gucci's fundamentals. Stefano and the new Artistic Direction will continue to build on this and to guide Gucci towards renewed fashion leadership and sustainable growth,' Francesca Bellettini, Kering Deputy CEO in charge of Brand Development, added.
Gucci and Kering will announce a new Artistic director in due course. The Fall-Winter '25 fashion show in Milan on February 25 will be presented by the Gucci design office.
