Lacoste has appointed Louise Trotter as its creative director.
The 49-year-old designer who stepped down from her role of creative director at Joseph in July after nine years is the first female creative director in Lacoste's 85-year history. She steps into the shoes of Felipe Oliveira Baptista who stepped down from his role as head creative at the fashion house after eight years.
'I'm looking forward to joining a French brand with such a unique heritage. The brand managed to stay fresh and modern throughout the last 85 years thanks to its unique combination of sports and fashion. I'm proud to be able to contribute to the next chapter of its history,' Trotter said in a press release.
Trotter will present her first collection for the French house at Paris Fashion Week for Fall / Winter 2019 in March next year.
