The star designer is now $13 million richer after a french court ordered Kering, to pay him in connection with a non-compete clause in his contract. Slimane had sued his former employer last week requesting the financial compensation be paid after the company lifted the clause at the end of his contract, thus freeing him from this potential constraint.
Slimane's attorney, Herve Temime, told Reuters: 'We won. I'm happy because this is a natural outcome. The contract terms were absolutely clear.'
However Kering has said that it plans to appeal the lower court's ruling.
