Haider Ackermann leaves Berluti

Haider Ackermann has stepped down as creative director at Berluti - the historic French fashion house which was founded in 1985 in Paris and entered the LVMH group's portfolio in 1993. The Colombian designer left after only three seasons.

Ackermann joined Berluti in September 2016, succeeding Alessandro Sartori. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, he started in the fashion world with John Galliano in 1998. He unveiled his first collection at the Pitti Imagine in Florence.

'Haider has been at the core of the evolution of Berluti's collections and image these past few seasons. I want to thank him for everything he has accomplished since his arrival. His feel for materials, colors, and his wonderful shows will always be linked to the history of the House,' Antoine Arnault, CEO of Berluti said in a press statement.

'I am immensely proud to have been able to put my creativity at the service of this house with an exceptional know-how, whilst working with a passionate team. I thank them for their commitment,' said the Colombian designer.

Berluti is expected to announce a successor shortly amidst rumors that Kris Van Assche will take up the role.
