Italian luxury house Gucci has launched a new online concept store that will revolutionize the vintage market.
Titled 'Vault' the new project from the vision of Creative Director Alessandro Michele is inspired by the magnificent, multimedia concept stores from the '90s. The online space is a repository offering a selection of vintage pieces from 100 years of creation of the house, selected from suppliers and auction houses across the world freshly refurbished by Gucci artisans, and in some cases customized by the designer himself.
Vault also sells the creations of emerging talents from around the world, sometimes exclusive to Vault. Currently featured are 13 emerging designers from around the world: Ahluwalia, Shanel Campbell, Stefan Cooke, Cormio, Charles de Vilmorin, Jordanluca, Yueqi Qi, Rave Review, Gui Rosa, Bianca Saunders, Collina Strada, Boramy Viguier, and Rui Zhou.
'We called it Vault because a vault is a storage place for beautiful things. It's related to my passion for vintage. It is clear I love vintage. I love old things, they are present in my life with contemporary things,' Michele said.
The online space is commercially promising with the cross-pollination of restored and customized archive pieces, alongside a selection of items from other brands dear to Alessandro Michele. Each item is shipped in exclusive packaging crafted from eco-friendly materials including a canvas tote with a colorful design that matches Vault's geometric patterns.
