Italian luxury label Salvatore Ferragamo announced that Fulvio Rigoni will be the new head of its womenswear division.
Rigoni who showed his first collection in September for the brand had previously worked with Christian Dior till 2015. Prior to that he had stints at Gucci (1999), Bally (2000), Calvin Klein (2003) and Jil Sander (2006).
Rigoni's appointment follows on the news of a slowdown in the past nine months for the Florence based company. Eraldo Poletto who became the CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo last August, has reshaped its creative department by splitting it into three areas: menswear, womenswear and accessories.
With Paul Andrew tapped to be the design director of women's footwear and Rigoni head of its womenswear division, Poletto only needs to appoint a menswear designer to fill the position left vacant by Massimiliano Giornetti.
