Brand of the Week: Le Monde Beryl

Le Monde Beryl is our 'Brand of the Week'.

The label was founded in 2015 by friends and fine-jewelry experts Lily Atherton Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin, who met in London and bonded over their love of jewelry and gemmology, art, design, and travel.

The name refers to the beryl family of gemstones such as emerald, aquamarine, morganite, and heliodor considered to be treasures to intrepid travelers and artists. It also is a homage to pioneering aviator Beryl Markham who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic from east to west.

Inspired by a love of travel, spirit of adventure and craftsmanship, Le Monde Beryl offers a new take on the classic Venetian gondolier's slipper. Combining elegance, know-how, and modernity, shoes are handmade in Florence by Italian craftsmen using traditional techniques.

The collection includes pointed-toe mules and sleek slippers in satin or velvet available in several colors. Altogether, Le Monde Beryl evokes a beguiling sense of discovery with each collection celebrating a unique decorative tradition from around the globe.
