Alber Elbaz is making a comeback this year.
The former creative director of Lanvin who had stepped down after 14 years in 2015 will make his return with a fashion film during Paris Couture Week with digital luxury brand AZ Factory.
Back in November last year Elbaz had announced that the new brand was a joint project with Swiss luxury conglomerate Richemont that aims to redefine inclusivity in luxury fashion. He also emphasized that the new brand would not be centered around his name. 'I didn't want to call it Alber Elbaz, because it's not about me, myself and I. It's going to be about we and us. And it's going to go from A to Z. Today luxury is not just about price,' he said at the time.
The brands debut collection which will be released during Couture Week will also mark Elbaz's official comeback to the fashion stage. 'We are not going to do pre-collections, collections, post-collections. It's going to be about things I believe are relevant to make. We are just beginning now. And we are beginning really, really small. I like the idea of starting small today. I am so happy and very much looking forward to an exciting launch in late January,' Elbaz said on the new project.
AZ Factory's debut show will take place on Tuesday, January 26 at 8 p.m. CET.
