- Her real name is Eleanor Gow.
- Elle was 16 years old when she was discovered. She modelled part-time until she moved to New York after dropping out of a law degree at university.
- In 1986 TIME magazine nick-named her 'The Body'.

- Elle has had numerous film roles, her first was as an extra in Woody Allen's 'Alice', and she appeared in her own ESPN 2 TV show called 'Hot Summer Nights'. - Elle has a son called Arpade Flynn with her partner Arpade Busson.
