Vanessa Hagelmaier - model of the month - November

Germany is undoubtly on a winning strike! Vanessa Hegelmaier at 5'11'', flawless runway body and poetic features will surely make her mark on the fashion world. Managed by IMG and Place powerhouse Vanessa heils from German Saxony and took part in Germany's Next Top Model contest in 2008.
With four advertisement campaigns and a strong runway season under her belt Vanessa, who once disliked being photographed, will surely be a lot more than a flavour of the month!

How did you get started in the modeling business? Did you ever think you'd be doing this?
Vanessa: No, not really - especially not after starting my studies. But here I am and its a lot of fun doing both.

What do you like most about modeling? What do you like least?
Vanessa: I think the best about modeling is getting to know so many different people and a part of their life stories.

Have you developed any new interests since you started modelling?
Vanessa: I think i can say, that i got a lot more interested in photography and art itself.

What are your favourite things to do in your free time?
Vanessa: When I m home I love to spend time with my friends or my family - almost like being on holidays :-)

Out of all the places your career has taken you, where was the most memorable?
Vanessa: I think it was Paris - not for the jobs i did there, but for the city itself: to see all the wealth and the poorness right next to each other was something I wouldn't have expected there.

Do you have a mentor? Who? What is it about them that affects you? Why?
Vanessa: I don't really have a mentor - but if i would think of one it would be my mother agency Place in Germany. They are always there to support me, just as my friends.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? What could be your next career?
Vanessa: Oh - in ten years, I normally never think about my life that far. But well, I think the most important to me is to see a lot in life. So I hope that I have had a lot of experiences by that time.

What are your best beauty secrets? How do you stay in shape?
Vanessa: Well my way for staying in shape is quitting a part of the amount of chocolate I have every day. Apart from that I can be happy, cause I love vegetables and fruits anyway.

Favourite all-time model:
Vanessa: I have never really had a favourite model - for me its more the composition of all, so the picture itself.

Favourite fashion designer:
Vanessa: I think their is much more I have to learn about fashion to find a favorite designer. For know its all the differences between the pieces that i like.

Favourite kind of food:
Vanessa: Chocolate, second best: fruits.

Favourite kind of music:
Vanessa: Classic, alternative and a mix of the rest.
