Sebastian Pons was born in 1972 on the Spanish island of Majorca. He moved to London and studied at Central St. Martins College, from where so many great designers have emerged.
He spent some time working with Alexander McQueen and then moved to New York to join Miguel Adrover's design team.
Pons debuted at New York Fashion week in September 2003, with a collection for Spring/Summer 2004. He presented knits in Arabian-inspired patterns and brightly coloured chiffons stitched with semi-precious stones, including a chemise embroidered in coloured threads and pieces of mirror in Rajasthan, India-style.
All the garments were made at his home in Majorca with the help of a team of friends and neighbours.
