about
Yancci is one of the longest-established leather goods companies in the town of Ubrique. Founded in 1940 by Jos Pulido Soto, today the third generation of his successors continue his time-honoured trade, employing 100 people. Made by hand from the finest raw materials, its cutting-edge designs suit the tastes of the modern market, whilst preserving the essence of the firms traditional craftsmanship.
Yancci has worked for prestigious names including Nina Ricci, Christian Dior, Paco Rabanne, El Caballo and Burberrys, and also sells its own label to an upper-middle target in multi-brand stores and specialist retailers. Another great achievement since the mid-seventies has been its consolidation on foreign markets. Exports now account for 40% of its turnover and markets like the USA and Japan make up 10% of that total. On a global scale, it has also proved successful elsewhere, particularly in Belgium, France, Britain, Germany and Canada, where it has agents and, in some cases, showrooms. The firm makes a point of taking part in major international trade fairs, including Mipel in Milan.
Among its future plans is the creation of an alliance with other Ubrique-based entrepreneurs in the trade, who will join forces with an eye to opening and consolidating new markets in Belgium and Germany.
