about
VR Menswear was founded in 1988 as a diffusion line of Vila Romana, a confection of retail markets that more than a half century ago produced male casual clothes.
At the beginning, the VR Menswear was just a franchise store in rua Oscar Reira, who had been giving visibility to the Vila Romana, in a process of expansion of the market. Two years later, the VR Menswear had ten shops.
In 1996, Alexandre Brett took over the Creative Direction of VR Menswear, developing and creating a new concept for the label. The classical heritage of Vila Romana was transformed into a more modern fashion, dedicated to a target group from 20 to 45 years. Thus mean that new product lines had to be added to the existing lines of suits and trousers. And so the brand was expanded to have also sportswear and streetswear.
Since then, every year contemporary trends are being incorporated in successful collections, whose releases were matched with the schedule of Brazilian fashion.
In 2003, the brand was expanded by launching the VR Kids line.
VR Menswear debuted at the Sao Paulo Fashion Week with the Spring/Summer 2004 collection.
VR Menswear stores are present in the main capitals of Brazil. There are also over 100 multi-brand stores that carry the brand. The VR Kids line account five own stores.
