about

Valisere is the high-end lingerie brand from the German underwear company, Triumph International.

In 1860 the company 'Le Grand Perrin' was founded by Madame August Perrin and her sons Paul and Férréol.

The brand Valisere went into operation and, apparently the geographical location inspires the same name in 1913. The company was located near Val d'Isère, a small town in the valley of Isère in the southeast of France.

In 1919 the company, focused especially on the production of ladies and men's underwear, saw the first lingerie collection (underskirts) was born.

Vertical integration begun in 1921 and the newly developed ladder-proof (run resistant) fabrics was used extensively for the production of ladies underwear.

Since 1924, under the leadership of grandson Paul-Valérien Perrin, the company enjoyed a long period of success reflected in an increase in capital of from F3,000,000 to F6,000,000.

Subsidiaries was established in Brazil and Morocco in 1935.

François Clement, a nephew of Paul-Valérian Perrin, took over the company leadership in 1940. He was facing dire supply situations but despited all obstacles. He was able to keep the factory running during the difficult war years.

In 1941 licenses were established in Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden.

The new fibre Nylon was changing the hosiery and underwear markets in 1946. The new technology allowed creation of style with more lace and embroidery designs.

In 1950 Valisere was the largest employer in Grenoble.

In 1959 Valisere had 1500 employees and the company was awarded the 'La Coupe d'Or du Bon gout Français.'

Paul Valérien Perrin died in 1961 and François Clement took over the leadership of the company together with his brother Georges.

By 1975 the turnover was of F200 million and 1200 employees in 9 factories in France.

Unfortunately the following 14 years since 1980 saw a decline of the company, and the family company with 40 shareholders was finally sold to a finance company.

In 1987 Valisere was acquired by Ovale, a textile company from Roubaux.

Triumph International AG acquired the Valisere brand in 1991.

In 1993 a new brand logo was created and new marketing concepts target a more exclusive consumer group. Valisere exported exclusive, seductive French lingerie.

2005 saw the introduction of the segment Valisere Tabu, a new line of daring designs for the distinct few.

In 2006 Valisere went global (east meets west). The 'Pour Moi' brand was converged into Valisere to strengthen the global approach and to streamline the overall marketing strategy.

The new Valisere site launched in 2009, had a browse.
