In 2004 Tory Burch opened her first flagship boutique at 257 Elizabeth Street in NYC, in the up and coming downtown neighborhood known as Nolita. The collection launched as a lifestyle concept form the outset with several categories including ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags and jewelry. Wholesale launched exclusively with Bergdorf Goodman and Scoop.
Her company produces caftans, sequined cardigans, tunics, children's swimwear, jewelry, handbags, and shoes.
After appearing as a guest at the Oprah Show in 2005, Torybruch.com received 8 million hits the following day and recognition of the brand changed overnight.
In 2006 Tory Burch launched international distribution, with prestigious retailer Harvey Nichols in London and Dubai adding to the brand’s global appeal.
After four and a half year in business, Tory Burch opened a showroom in the Italian fashion capital Milan in 2008 to continue to grow the brand’s international distribution.
In the early December 2009 the first international Tory Burch flagship opened in Tokyo’s Ginza district; later in the month a Tory Burch boutique opened in Manila.
There are currently 26 Tory Burch boutiques in the US and 2 international boutiques. She now has locations in Atlanta, Bal Harbour, Bellevue, Chicago, Costa Mesa, Dallas, East Hampton, Houston, Greenwich, Connecticut, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose, with stores opening's at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte in July 2010 and at The Westchester in White Plains, NY in August 2010. Her fashion line is carried in Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's. In 2009, Tory Burch sold a minority stake in her company to a Mexican private equity firm, Tresalia Capital.
Tory Burch offers a holistic lifestyle vision with her inimitable collection of eclectic sportswear and accessories. The namesake line blends timeless and classic design elements with modern fashion sensibilities. She draws on an understanding of vintage clothing, fashion history and tailoring, and accents it with bohemian and ethnic details.
