Suddenly Princess

"Suddenly Princess" is a collection born out of the renowned fashion house Betty Barclay, based in Nußloch. The collection was first introduced in February 2018, marking a new venture for Betty Barclay as they expanded their portfolio of brands. Following the model of other lines by Betty Barclay such as Cartoon or Amber&June, the collection was launched with a vertical business model, where retailers do not pre-order, but receive new merchandise monthly in a corner concept delivery​.

The parent company, Betty Barclay, has a deep-rooted history in the fashion industry. The brand was established in 1955 when Max Berk acquired the Europe-wide license for the formerly American brand Betty Barclay. Since then, the company has been creating its own collections, and in 1961 and 1968, respectively, it expanded its brand portfolio with the addition of the cocktail dress brand VERA MONT and GIL BRET. Betty Barclay has held the sole rights to the Betty Barclay brand worldwide since 1972​​.
