The brand was founded by Ireland-based French designer Sophei Rieu in 2005.

Unicorn clothing is made in Ireland & Poland. As the label has become more popular Sophie has moved most of her production from her studio in Wicklow to what was once the centre of textile production for many of the couture houses in Europe, Lodz in Poland. Lodz has retained the expertise, craftsmanship & equipment to produce the high quality production and finish required by Unicorn.

Unicorn has been stocked throughout Ireland as well as the USA; Japan; Germany and the UK.
