about
Ruffo, leader in the leather clothing industry, was founded by Ruffo Corsi in 1966. Since the beginning of the 80s, Giacomo Corsi, his son, has been the CEO of Ruffo.
The company is located in Calcinaia, in the heart of Tuscany, and continues to use traditional working methods. Ruffo also creates leather pieces for prestigious fashion houses such as Gianni Versace, Prada Group and Dolce & Gabbana.
In 1991, Ruffo opened a boutique for womenswear and menswear in Milan and in 2002 in Florence.
The Autumn/Winter 1998/99 Season saw the launch of the Research project which concluded with the Spring/Summer 2003 Collection. This collection was dedicated to the creation and research of unique leather pieces designed by cutting-edge, emerging designers; Antonio Berardi, VĂ©ronique Branquinho, Raf Simons, A.F. Vandervorst, Sophia Kokosalaki, Alexandre Matthieu and Haider Ackermann.
Ackermann has now left them and is showing his own label.
In May 2004, Ruffo announced that their new designer will be Italian Riccardo Tisci (born 1975). His first collection for Ruffo will be Spring/Summer 2005 to be shown in September.
