Spanish brand Roidal was founded in the late 70s in a bid to bring couture to ladies’ swimwear. Based in Salomó in Tarragona, it designs, produces and markets all its own collections.

A family firm, Roidal is now a leading name in the upper-mid swimwear segment. It went global in the 80s, when more than 35% of turnover was destined for the export market, a figure that has since risen to 55%. Europe was its first port of call, followed by the USA, Canada, Australia and Russia.

Roidal swimwear is made to the strictest quality standards, both in the selection of raw materials and the manufacturing process. Care is taken over every design detail – from prints to cut – in the search for a unique and original product. The swimwear range has gradually expanded to include accessories, such as beach-wraps and bags, as well as dresses and shirts.

Today, Roidal designs are available from more than 2,500 points of sale, 500 of which are in Spain and the remainder in more than 40 countries abroad. The corporate strategy has positioned the brand at multi-brand retailers and there are no current plans for company-owned stores. Roidal is a regular at leading international tradeshows like Lyon Mode City (France), The Magic Las Vegas (USA), Pure London (UK) and CPD Düsseldorf (Germany).
