about
Pin Up Star is an Italian beachwear and swimwear brand which was founded by Jerry Tommolini in 1995.
Pin Up Star was the first brand ever to make embroideries on a bathing suit.
King S.p.A., which entered as a holding in 2003 with 65% of the capital, now contributes all its financial and organizational expertise.
In 2009, Pin-Up Star acquired a new management team: King S.p.A. decided to entrust the position of CEO to Engineer Pasquale Donato, with his background in Finmeccanica and Cartiere Burgo, but nothing to do with fashion.
The decision to place a man with strong managerial skills at the helm was triggered by a desire to push investments and develop international Pin-Up Stars markets.
Another important arrival was Fabiana Ferretti, direct from her stint in the luxury pole ( La Perla and John Galliano). She is now set to tackle the restructuring of the style office, developing a team that will know how to make the most of Pin-Up Stars while keeping true to the creative heart of the firm to render this product inimitable. This confirms the Pin-Up Stars mission: research, innovation that emphasizes the fashion content of the collections, and attention that emphasizes the fashion content of the collections, and attention to communications, even while exploring other non-conventional formulas.
Today, 40% of the Pin-Up Star turnover comes from fashion boutiques, while the rest arrives from high-end lingerie shops. But above all, each Pin-Up client is also a partner. On the Italian market, the big news is a partnership with Rinascente, the largest and most prestigious department store in the country, where Pin-Up Stars has set up a shop-in shop.
Pin Up Star collections are characterized by trims, semi-precious tones, and above all hand-embroidered fabrics.
