about
Mo by María Roca was created in 2003 as the result of excellent preparation and, above all, illusion and enthusiasm on the part of two women: Carmen Isla and María Roca. This mother-daughter team relies on an invaluable asset: Carmen’s experience and Maria’s drive to conceive original ideas and give form to them in designs that stand out with their own personality in the complex world of fashion and accessories.
María Roca is a young accessories designer with an original and timeless style far from fashion fads. Her Mo by María Roca bags include everything from the very large to hand-held wallets. They make use of skilful fabric combinations and exude femininity. Her hallmarks are an impeccable finish and careful choice of detail like fringes, ribbons, bows and metal trimmings.
The Mo style has now moved beyond bags and the label is experimenting with a mini collection of costume jewellery, summer wear in a casual, deconstructivist style, several shoe designs as well as felt and straw hats.
Participation in top Spanish trade fairs have helped Mo make its global launch. These include the SIMM International Fashion Week in Madrid and SIPIEL International Leather Week, where it showcased its collections for markets like Paris, London, Dublin and Italy.
Outside Europe, the label sells its collection at department stores in Mexico and has set its sights on new markets in the near future. International sales already account for 30% of the Mo by María Roca turnover.
