Maerz is a German fashion company founded by Wolfgang and Theo März in 1920. They started to produce their owen lofers and booties in the back room of a retail store. Soon after they expanded their range by including sporty sweaters and knitted swimwear. Wolfgang and Thea March found the company. In the back room of a retail store are knitted with much devotion Loferl and booties. The offer will be soon expanded to include sporty sweaters and knitted swimwear. Quality is a success principle of the family business and Wolfgang March characterizes the family by his principle.
Shortly before the second World War II they installed the first motor-driven and fully automatic knitting machines and thus initiated the transition from artisanal manufacture to industrial factory.
In May 2010, Maerz sold all shares to Mr. Mark Bezner, owner of Olympus Bezner GmbH & Co. KG and in July the name was changed to "März München GmbH & Co. KG".
In 2013 the name of the brand was changed form März München to Maerz Muenchen.
