The inception of Hirscher Tracht GmbH can be traced back to the early months of 2021, when the seeds of its founding were sown by Horst Irlbacher. Irlbacher's vision wasn't realized single-handedly; for the production, he teamed up with Maddox, a company renowned for its specialization in Lederhosen. Together, they embarked on the journey to bring Hirscher to life. Soon after securing distribution channels with Thomas Schiffhauer in Germany and Manfred Poguter in Austria/Südtirol, the company officially launched by the end of 2022​​.

Horst Irlbacher, the man behind Hirscher Tracht, has been an integral part of the traditional costume industry since 1989. Renowned and appreciated by retailers and suppliers in the sector, his unyielding passion for traditional attire remains steadfast. Irlbacher, in addition to his role at Hirscher Tracht, also serves as a sales partner for Hammerschmid in the fashion center of Munich, Bavaria. His long-standing dream of launching his own Lederhosen collection, alongside the Hammerschmid collection, finally became a reality with the creation of the Hirscher brand. While Irlbacher prefers to work behind the scenes at Hirscher, he entrusts the German distribution to his long-time companion and good friend, Thomas Schiffhauer, and relies on Manfred Poguter for distribution in Austria. For Irlbacher, the combination of Hammerschmid and Hirscher represents a fulfillment of his dreams​​.
