created in 1900 by Isaac Lifschütz, who developed a non-perishable ointment base made of Eucerit, water, and oil. In 1902, Lifschütz received a patent for his creation in Germany.
In 1911, Oscar Troplowitz, the owner of Beiersdorf, acquired the patent and introduced the first Eucerin products - iodine creme and loose powder - to the German market a few years later. In the 1980s, the brand was launched globally by Beiersdorf affiliates, including in the USA. Since 1996, Eucerin has also offered facial care products.
